Question: My wife and love the shake I make in the mornings which consist of:
- 20 oz water
- 3 heaping Tablespoons natural peanut butter
- 1 scoop jay robb egg protein
- 1/2 container (454 grams ) of Oikos no fat greek style yogurt
- 12 ounces frozen raspberries
- 4 ounces frozen blueberries
As the first meal of the day, is this too much carbs, etc for fat loss?
Can I still drink this shake as part of overall plan to reduce BF% ?

Answer: The accurate answer to any question like this is… it depends.
If you’re drinking that shake every morning yet still losing fat and gaining muscle, then I can’t argue with the results. If, on the other hand, you’re not making the progress you want to, then modifying this shake would be a good place to start.
Based on having worked with hundreds of nutrition clients, this shake would have too many calories for most people. Specifically too much fat and too many carbs.
Remember, I typically do not prescribe meals that are high in both carbs and fat. If it’s a high carb meal, then it should (typically) be low in fat, and vice versa.
I hope that helps, Greg.
