Is KFC’s New Grilled Chicken Menu Healthy?
One of my clients recently asked me about KFC’s new Grilled Chicken options and whether or not they would fit into his meal plan. I recently saw a new commercial advertising this new menu option at KFC and was wondering the same thing myself. I wanted to share with you what I found out about KFC’s new grilled chicken menu, including the nutrition value.
KFC’s new grilled chicken portion of the menu offers four items: wings, breasts, drumsticks, and thighs. But only one of these choices should be included on your meal plan. As you’ve probably already guessed, it’s the grilled chicken breast. With only 4 g of fat for a serving size slightly more than 4 ounces, the nutrition value is impressive, pretty much like
plain, fresh chicken breasts.
As for the wings, drumsticks, and thighs, steer clear of those as each one has at least half of its calories from fat! Sure, eating just one wing or one drumstick would only give you 4 g of fat, but who’s going to eat just one?
Well, at least with KFC’s new grilled chicken breasts you have one more healthy option when you’re forced to eat out. Just don’t mess up the meal by pairing it with something less nutritious. Instead, add it to one of their plain side salads and opt for their Marzetti light Italian dressing, which only has 10 calories.

My only question would be is this quality protein or hormone, chemically enhanced etc type. But either way for a quick fix or in a rush for a fast food sounds pretty good.
Thanks
Adam, the quality of protein is actually perfectly fine just like other chicken breast. However, the chickens at KFC uses are definitely not organic, free range, grass fed chickens… that’s for sure! To get that quality of chicken breast you would have to prepare it at home.
So, as you said, not bad for a quick fix.
