Last tour stop: the 2008 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, NV

OK, I’m not really on tour, but I sure feel like it.  I’ve been gone from home the past 5 weekends and will be away this weekend.

This weekend I’m going to Las Vegas for the Mr. Olympia.  Actually it’s more accurately called Olympia Weekend now since they have women’s bodybuilding, fitness, and figure.  But (no offense to the ladies) the Mr. Olympia is still the big draw.

But to me, going to the expo and the parties and catching up with old friends and making new friends is more fun than the contest itself.

This year I’m going with a buddy of mine (and training partner) who has never been to the Olympia.  In fact, he’s never been to a pro bodybuilding show at all.  Boy is he in for a treat!

The last stop on our agenda is the Rehab Pool Party at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.  I call it “spring break for adults.”

On a related (but sort of not) note - I just purchased a great little video camera called Flip Video.  So look for DrClay.com to become more multimedia.  I plan to try it out this weekend in Vegas.  So stay tuned over the next few days for updates.

Yours in health,

Dr Clay

PS - If you’re at the Olympia and happen to see me (note my new shaved head in the photos below), please make sure to say hi and introduce yourself.

Write a Bestseller

ChrisG&DrCThe most polished and professional speaker of the weekend at Ryan Lee’s Bootcamp was certainly Chris Guereirro, author of Automatic Bestseller

Ryan brough him on board as a speaker because so many of us in attendance have written or aspire to write books.  As Ryan usually does, he sought out the absolutely best coach on the topic - and that was Chris Guereirro.  He has helped hundreds of people become bestselling authors with his simple but proven formula.

As a soon-to-be-published author myself, I was on the edge of my seat, frantically taking notes the entire time.  Chris laid out a very simple process for getting your book done in 30 days!  Now that’s what I’m talking about!

If you’ve ever thought about writing a book, I’d highly recommend checking out Automatic Bestseller.  There are all sorts of resources to help you get started.

Best,

Dr Clay

Help! My Business Sucks! ~ Andrew Lock

Andrew Lock & Dr ClayA while back Ryan Lee mentioned a great internet video show called Help! My Business Sucks! - hosted by a witty British guy by the name of Andrew Lock.

After watching the first episode I was hooked, primarily because he gives you Nifty Clicks - websites or tools that can dramatically increase your productivity or just make being on the computer more enjoyable.  The show is also great because of Andrew’s witty (sometimes dry, like mine) sense of humor.

As luck would have it, Andrew was one of the speakers today at Ryan Lee’s Bootcamp.  He packed more cool tips & tools into an hour than anyone could’ve asked for.

For example: www.searchme.com - it’s an incredible search engine that functions like Google but with one exception, it shows pictures of the website research in addition to just text.  You just have to check it out to appreciate it.  Though Google sure rocks as a company overall, I’ll be doing my searching from now on using www.searchme.com

If you use the computer much at all (and I’m sure you do or you wouldn’t be reading this), make sure to check out www.helpmybusiness.com.

Gotta run squeeze in a quick workout in the decent-but-not-great hotel gym here at the Hilton.

Best,

Dr Clay

Back East for Ryan Lee Bootcamp

I continue to rack up frequent flyer miles, annoy unlucky passengers who have to sit next to me and my wide shoulders, and suffer from sleep deprivation and jet lag all in one… for the 5th weekend in a row.

My traveling started a few weeks ago when I went to Birmingham to help Tim Smith at the NPC Alabama State Bodybuilding Championship and visit my family and friends.  After just two nights back in my own bed I flew from San Jose, CA to New York, NY to help Paris Pippillion at the Team Universe

After three nights in my bed I’m flying out of Oakland with AD Cherry to go to Atlantic City, NJ for the IFBB Pro Bodybuilding show there.  Three more nights back in my bed and I’m again flying out of San Jo for Connecticut (which I learned is way over here by New York and New Jersey - I’m not a geography wiz, I know.)

So that’s where I am now, Stamford, CT.  I’m here to learn and further my knowledge in the business end of fitness.  Essentially, I’m learning how to help more (more…)

Heading to Team Universe

I just got back from Birmingham where I was helping Tim (in the Mr Alabama) and visiting my family and friends.

Now I’m back in Cali, but just for 24 hours.  I’m heading out in the morning (early) to fly to New York to help Paris who will be competing in the Team Universe.  If I have internet access, I’ll post some up-to-the minute pics for you.

Today I also met with another client, IFBB Pro AD Cherry.  AD is looking REALLY good!  I think he’s going to end up leaner than he was last year when he won the Nationals, but bigger and fuller.  So he should certainly be bringing his best package ever to the stage the following weekend in Atlantic City.

Since this is the first show that I’ve worked with AD, I’d be really pleased if he ended up his best ever:)  That’s the plan!  I do have some sneak peak pics of him, but I’ve gotta keep them to myself.  However, I will plan to post some next weekend from the hotel room.
